I started sewing at a very young age, around 8 years old. I loved it so much that I can even remember being up early in the morning and sewing in the dark. I’ve sewed all my life; I make 99% of my own clothes so sewing and creating brings me a lot of joy. I love the fabric, the patterns and the challenge of putting all the pieces together to make that unique item.

 

In 2011, I read an article about small denim shops around the US that made beautiful jeans from high-end selvage denim. I had no idea that there was more than the basic denim nor that there is a denim culture out there. I was hooked right from the start and started making my own jeans, and jeans for my family. Retail sells cookie cutter clothing in mass quantities and I find the quality and fit a poor excuse for the prices we pay, so I began investing in the proper equipment and Finger Lakes Denim was born. We are proud to offer high quality, locally made jeans—jeans that are made by your neighbors, for your neighbors.
